Audubon Companies served as owner’s engineer and managed the competitive FEED (front-end engineering and design) for the Dominion Energy Cove Point LNG project. This included all phases of the project from engineering and construction to operations. The LNG export project was built within the existing regasification facility. The new liquefaction facilities’ design received environmental assessment approval by the FERC in September 2014. This design capitalized on the current facilities with limited environmental impact on the surrounding 800 acres of protected woodlands and wetlands. The liquefaction facilities are connected to the existing facility and share common facilities, such as the LNG tanks, pumps, piping, and piers, to import and export LNG
